Despite being 76, Schwarzenegger maintains a more than active lifestyle, trains regularly, and indulges in cardio to maintain his heart health; however, his thoughts often get the better of him and make him “sometimes cry,” and feel sad with his aging. But regardless of all this, the bodybuilding veteran tries to motivate his audience to have a positive mindset.

In his recent edition of the daily newsletter ‘Arnold’s Pump Club,’ he explained the importance of genuinely believing that ‘age is just a number.’ Quoting Mark Twain, Schwarzenegger made an exciting revelation from research that suggests ‘shifting your perspective.’

Schwarzenegger started explaining the concept in his newsletter by stating, “Mark Twain once wrote, “Age is an issue of mind over matter; if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”” Explaining further, Schwarzenegger revealed that according to research, feeling younger can lead to a much healthier life. Feeling older can often lead to a higher chance of depressive symptoms and poor health.

Following this in his own life, Schwarzenegger trains regularly despite turning 76 years old recently. After battling multiple heart issues already in his life, ‘The Austrian Oak’ ensures to maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as a positive mindset to assure longevity.

“Research also suggests that people who feel better about their age — that is, thinking they act or perform younger than they are — tend to have better health outcomes. Simply shifting your perspective about your age can result in improved memory, feeling less stressed, and a lower risk of dementia,” Schwarzenegger further explained.

Concluding with this part, ‘Terminator’ suggests thinking of yourself as a young individual and removing negative thoughts about aging. Instead of looking for anti-aging cosmetic products, it’s wiser to have a younger mind. Adding to this, Arnold said, “People who think poorly about aging tend to age worse, whereas those who don’t view it as a negative age better.”
